I can't offer shepherds, nor wise men bearing gifts, but if you join me for a moderately brisk walk on Christmas Eve, you can indulge yourself the following day with a clear conscience.
The route will include woods, fields, most likely mud , plus a couple of awkward stiles.
Picnic lunch on the green in Harefield. Pub nearby for a quick drink.
