Overview

Moderately paced 9 mile walk over mildly undulating terrain.

Route: circular walk mainly following the Horsley Diamond Jubilee Trail via Effingham Common, Old London Road (Track), Oldlands Wood, Crocknorth Farm, Effingham Forest, The Sheepleas, West Horsley Church and West Horsley Place and passing a number of Lovelace bridges (built in the 1860s to facilitate the transport of timber by horse-drawn carts). 

Lunch: picnic in Effingham Forest. Drinks later at ‘The Barley Mow’ pub, West Horsley.

Meet at Horsley station at 10.27.

Travel: Waterloo 09:32/Vauxhall 09.36/Clapham Junction 09.41 - Guildford train - arr Horsley at 10.27.

Ticket/Fare: Buy 'Sunday Out Return' to Horsley. Freedom Pass holders buy from Ewell West.
