This walk is 10 miles and incorporates Deep Dale (opposite the car park), Horse Shoe Dale, skirts Chelmorton. We then make our way to the village of Priestcliffe and then down to Millers Dale Station. We leave the station heading west along the Monsal Trail. Providing the great British weather is not wet we will head down into Chee Dale and Wye Dale following the river back to the car park. It is a pretty and quite dramatic walk that includes 40 stepping stones in 2 stretches. If the weather does not play ball we will stay on the Monsal Trail to return to the car park.
The walk has been marked as ‘Strenuous’ simply because the ground under foot in Chee Dale can be rocky and uneven in places. There is some ascending and descending But these are really moderate.
There are no facilities at the start, there are toilets and a cafe at Miller Dale Station about 7 1/2 miles in. Day charge for the car park is £ 6.80, the Peak District pa4king permit can be used for anybody who has one.
