The walk
We begin our walk from Whitby bus station at 11:00, first we follow the Whitby beach front to the Whitby golf course. We then have a short road section (on paths) to Sandsend where we then climb on to the cliffs, first through an old Alum quarry site, where we will look to stop for lunch. Then we continue on the exposed cliffs with fantastic coastal views all the way to Runswick Bay beach. We venture down a short steep section down to the beach where if the tide is out we walk along the beach to reach Runswick Bay. To finish the walk we climb a final steep hill back to the car park.
🅿️ Runswick Bay Bank Top council car park (£6 for 6 hours, card payment only) OR the private car park next to it (£5 for 6 hours).
🚌 If you are coming by bus, meet us at Whitby bus station. You can get there from York (840 from Stonebow at 08:30), Scarborough (X93 from the station at 09:50) and Middlesbrough (X94 from the bus station at 09:45)
