We are the Southwell Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

From Limetree Avenue the walk follows the Robin Hood Way northwest through Cottage Plantation. We will then go around Burnt Oak Plantation heading east back towards Limetree Avenue which we cross and continue east through Hardwick Wood to the village of Hardwick where drinks and snacks can be purchased from the Lakeside Brew cafe or enjoy your own. From there the walk follows the eastern lakeside path to Clumber Bridge which we go over to pick up paths through Whitwell Round to return to our parked cars. An alternative route would go to the visitors centre where packed lunches could be eaten or purchase something from the cafe.
Please contact the Leader to let them know that you are coming on the walk. Please leave your name, contact telephone number and email address. Please also state whether you intend going to the designated meeting place or directly to the start of the walk. This will help ensure that you are not left behind. This should not be regarded as “booking a place”.
If you later find that you cannot come on the walk, please notify the Leader as soon as possible in order that the group is not waiting for you to arrive on the day.
There will be refreshment stops and a lunch-time break, so bring some food and drink.

Southwell Leisure Centre Long Stay car park , off Nottingham ROad, (A612), Southwell
The parking area is a large open sandy area on each side of Limetree Avenue approximately 100 meters south of the turn to the visitors centre. If approaching from Carburton it is before the right hand turn to the Visitor Centre. If approaching from A614 it is after the left hand turn to the Visitor Centre.
