The Gower Way created by the Gower Society to mark the Millenium runs for 35 miles from Pennlle’r Castell to Rhossili - Marker Stones at kilometre intervals.
Claire to lead 10 mile walk. Linear from St John Baptist Church, Penmaen to access Gower Way near Marker 12. Trail follows backbone of Cefn Bryn past Inauguration Stone July 1998 by the then Prince of Wales, Trig. point and Queen’s Silver Jubilee Orientation Plaque to cross the road to car Park to visit Arthur’s Stone. Excellent views south to Three Cliffs Bay & Oxwich, north to Llanmadoc Hill and across the Loughor estuary to Burry Port & Pembrey
Bryn to lead 7 mile walk from the car park with visit to Arthur’s Stone before commencing Gower Way to Rhossili.
Both walks now follow the same tracks/paths to Reynoldston, through fields, short road section from Knelston before return to fields to Llandewi, with good tracks past a few farms, some derelict for a final short ascent and descent for views of Worms Head and Rhossili Bay. Option to walk there and back to the Coastguard station on the headland where the 0 marker resides for the start/end of the Way.
Cafés close at 4 pm, although The Causeway may remain open until 4.30 depending on trade.
Worms Head Hotel open for drinks etc. Coach depart 5.30 pm.
Or, stay on coach for Rhossili – explore village and/or self-guide the NT. 3.5m Headland walk leading back through the Vile (medieval open field strip system), or Beach etc.
