A varied walk in Shropshire's 'Lake District' - but a bit on the quieter side.
We'll be starting off from Colemere, looping around to Blakemere, along a lovely section of the Shropshire Union canal. We'll stop in Ellesmere to have a little bit of lunch. The second half of the walk crosses gently undulating farm land East toward Welshampton, before returning to Colemere.
This offers a good introduction to the distinctive landscapes of North Shropshire and its 'Lake District', a landscape formed in the Ice Age, but owing much to the 'canal age'.
A good introductory walk, mainly on the flat. A mix of fields, minor lanes, short sections of Canal Towpath.
