This circular walk follows a peaceful canal towpath from Marsden, through woods and past intriguing industrial heritage in the Colne Valley. The walk then heads uphill beside a beck to extensive moorland, with expansive views of the South Pennines.
Walk distance is approximately 8 miles with a circa 300m ascent. Should take 3.5 to 4.5 hours to complete.
Starting and end point at Marsden train station, which has services from Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield. If getting the train from Leeds, the 09:29am Manchester Victoria bound service arrives in Huddersfield at 09:48am, and you change here for the 09:55am Manchester Piccadilly bound service that arrives in Marsden at 10:06am.
There is a small amount of parking at Marsden station, and other car parks in Marsden also.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at Marsden station.
