As we foray to the Worcestershire/Herefordshire border from the free car park at St. James the Great Church, Mill Lane, Colwall, WR13 6HE, we will walk part of the Herefordshire Trail and Geopark way and enjoy the gentle slopes and views (weather permitting!) of the Malvern Hills and beyond into Wales. A couple of miles of quiet lane walking with beautiful hedgerows. We will stop for two short breaks to enjoy the stunning views; one at Coddington Church/Vineyard and then at the trig point on Oyster Hill. There are a few 'pulls' up fields and lanes throughout this varied walk but we will take it slowly. Approx. 8 stiles, a few rickety and a couple of short but steep downhill sections; sticks and walking boots likely to be useful. One field with cows and one with horses on day of recce.
For those interested, we plan an optional post-walk lunch at The Colwall Park Hotel, Walwyn Road, Colwall, WR13 6QG (see the weblink below). Well recommended - good menu choice. Anyone planning to eat, please let Linda know by Monday 2nd Sept, so the pub can be notified.
Bring snack and drinks for two short breaks. Sticks and sturdy walking boots recommended.
Please arrive in plenty of time to sign register bringing Ramblers membership details and emergency contact cards (if have) Guests are always welcome.
