A chance to visit a relatively unexplored area by Redditch Ramblers. This walk, to the east of Coventry in North Warwickshire, is an easy 11 miles on farmland along bridle ways, footpaths, lanes and roads and visiting Brinklow and Coombe Abbey Country Park (no stiles). Coffee break will be at the church in Brinklow who have offered to supply coffee, tea and biscuits (contributions welcome for the refreshments). The church also has a WC. Brinklow is on the Roman road Fosse Way and has a number of lovely cottages along with an extensive Norman Mott & Bailey Castle. Lunch will be at Coombe Abbey visitors centre with an extensive range of hot food, drinks, cake etc. WC available. Coombe Abbey Country Park has extensive woodland, lakes and streams with the Abbey dating back to 11C now a 5* hotel. Wet & Muddy in Places. There is an option for a meal in the Royal Oak @ Brandon after the walk. Please advise if you are interested in attending so the walk leader can book a table.
