We will be taking a clockwise, circular, walk starting with a loop to Red Meadow Hill with views across Cambridge, and Barton rifle range. Back into Coton Countryside Reserve and on to Coton village. We then join the Whitwell Way into open countryside, westward towards Hardwick and on to Madingley. En route we will explore 800 Wood and the American Cemetery; returning to Coton via a different route through the Country Park.
Meet at Coton Countryside Reserve car park, Grantchester Road
We start our walks at 10.00am unless stated. Please arrive 15 minutes beforehand if you can. The duration of a walk includes time for drink and lunch breaks. Please ensure that you bring sufficient water, drinks and food (picnic lunch) to sustain you during the walks. Walk leaders will explain stops for drinks and lunch at the start of a walk.
Do consider the length of a walk, the weather and likely ground conditions to ensure you are fit enough and have appropriate footwear and clothing. If in doubt, contact the walk leader for advice.
Leaders make every effort to ensure your safety, but we expect members and guests to take care to minimise the risk of accidents.
All “Registered Assistance Dogs” are welcome on the walks with their owner. Please contact the walk leader.
