We are the Darlington Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

A lovely walk in the little known dale of Coverdale over well defined paths and some country lanes. The walk starts from the village of Carlton and our route takes us over the river Cover and over fields to the hamlet of Swineside. From there we head for West Scrafton and then East Scrafton before returning to Carlton via Melmerby. There a number of stiles to negotiate and one short steep climb on wooden steps. There may be livestock.

There are no toilets once we leave Carlton and the walk is not suitable for dogs. There is a pub in Carlton.
