An interesting and varied canalside and riverside walk commencing at Central Station. The route takes us via steps from Cowcaddens to the canal at Speirs Wharf. It also includes a short climb to Claypitts on Hamiltonhill with fine views over the city. We pass Firhill football stadium, Ruchill Park and stop to admire the recently constructed Stockingfield Junction and associated community development. At Maryhill Locks we turn onto the Kelvin Walkway and follow the river past the Botanic Gardens to Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum and a welcome cup of tea. Return to Central Station by train or underground from Partick, or by bus or on foot.
