A beautiful walk from the centre of Drumnadrochit through woods uphill to the fort of Craigmonie, with stunning views over Drum. Then on to the Falls of Divach, a dramatic 100-ft waterfall, and back to Drum. Both the fort and the falls are good spots for a picnic, so bring a packed lunch!
Terrain:
Some steep hills, road/footpaths, forest trails – can be muddy
What to bring:
Definitely bring good footwear. If you use walking poles, you may find them helpful on sections of this walk. Be generally prepared for the Scottish weather: an extra layer, waterproofs, but also sun cream and midge spray – just in case! And of course, a packed lunch and plenty of water.
