Overview

This is a circular walk in that we stop and start at the same point but its shape is more of a dumbbell. We will be walking from Cramond beach car park along the River Almond to Cammo Estate passing Cramond Falls.

After the falls we have to negiotiate a steep staircase going up first then coming right back down.  Following the path we will reach the old Cramond Brig Toll Bridge which is below the Miller and Carter restaurant. We go under the A90 following the river  until we reach the Cammo Estate. There are more steps on the way. Once into the estate we will  be passing the ponds, the ruins of the old stables and visiting Cammo Tower.
We head back home on the opposite side of the river before crossing back over at the Cramond Brig. Then its back the way we came which involves going up and down the stairs again.

Those who would like a shorter walk could join us at Cammo Estate and do a circular walk around the park of approx 2.5 mls. Contact me if you are interested.

This walk involves climbing quite a few stairs on the way along, I think there are 79 steep steps with handrails both up and down on one section. There are more steps further along the path which we will avoid on the way back. These could be slippy and care should be taken. We can expect muddy sections as we have had so much rain recently.

The walk will be taken at an easy pace.

Apart from the 79 steps up and down this would be a C walk but because of them I would class this walk a  C+
