Directions :
Leave the A1 at the junction signposted Seahouses / Alnwick / Denwick . Turn right onto the B1340 and follow signs to Craster.
Car Park:
Meet at the Quarry Car Park NE66 3TT
There is a large car park but it does get busy and is also expensive so car-sharing would be recommended.
The cost for the day is £9. Theoretically payment can be made via a parking app and one machine supports the use of a card payment. However it is virtually impossible to get a signal and the card machine is rarely working so please bring coins.
Toilets are available next to the car park.
Walk description :
A very pleasant leisurely circular walk heading inland and south over farmland and meadows - this part may be muddy depending on recent weather. There is one tall stile to cross. We arrive at the entrance to Howick Hall (famed for being the home of Earl Gray and its gardens and arboretum). From here we walk on the road on a narrow pavement towards the coast. After a brief detour south for our break we will return to Craster on the coastal path .
In Craster there is the Jolly Fisherman pub (which will be busy) and also a van outside serving drinks and food.
If you wish to return straight to the car park there is also a kiosk (Pipers pitch) for refreshments.
