Starting from the Crayford marshes, the walk straddles sections one and two of the London Loop as it follows the Darent and the Cray. A mix of open marshland and suburban river paths. The marshes and river paths can be surprisingly tranquil and are rich in bird and plant life, although midsection of walk involves busy roads and is marred by traffic noise. There will be a few brief stops at points of interest, including a lunch stop at Hall Place Gardens. Flat, relatively easy walking, mainly at a moderate pace. Be prepared for mud, and some climbs up and down steps. Loos on train, at Slade Green Station, and at Hall Place.
Lunch: Café or picnic at Hall Place.
Train: London Bridge 9:18, Abbey Wood 9:47. Arr. Slade Green 9:52 (Rainham Train). Return from Albany Park to London Bridge via Sidcup Line. Covered by Oyster/Freedom Pass.
