This walk up this Corbett starts from Glen Callater, and offers good views of nearby mountains. We will be taking the route as described on Walk Highlands.
The walk is 14.5km and should take around 5-6 hours.
Estimated Duration: 5-6hours
Distance: 14.5km
Ascent: 479m
Pace: Pace will be relatively easy going
All walkers must sign up on meetup
The car park at Auchallater is not huge, and so I would encourage car sharing as far as possible. If you are driving alone due to your start point, perhaps consider whether you could meet someone else in Braemar to consolidate cars! Note that parking is £3.50 per car, and they are coin only! I can give lifts to three people.
Safety Message: Walkers should be responsible for their own safety and wellbeing on the hill. Please ensure you have the appropriate kit for the walk and that your fitness level is of an appropriate level. Please contact the organiser to discuss if unsure
We will continue to register attendance using the Ramblers App. If you are a Ramblers member, it would be helpful if you could either bring your membership card along, or download and login to the Ramblers app. If you are not a Ramblers member, I will ask for your name, postcode and e-mail at the start, for submission of the register to the Ramblers.
Important: If this is your fourth or more walk with AYW then you need to have Ramblers membership: http://www.ramblers.org.uk/become-a-member.aspx
Please also be aware that walking/hillwalking is an activity that carries a certain amount of danger of personal injury or death. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement
