With some of the group's regular Wednesday walkers away in Exmoor on this date, I'm repeating this walk which I led in the autumn of 2024. A varied route incorporating Batchworth Lake, sections of the Grand Union Canal, the Ebury Way, Croxley Common Moor and the environs of Croxley Green.
We'll meet outside the cafe at Rickmansworth Aquadrome, where public toilets are available (as well as good coffee). There's free parking onsite. For those coming by train, it's a c.0.75 mile walk from the station. We'll make a short refreshment stop after c.3.5 miles, and a longer lunch stop outside The Artichoke pub on Croxley Green (c.7.25 miles). Please bring a picnic lunch. Toilets are available in The Artichoke for those making a purchase; otherwise al fresco options are available elsewhere along the route.
