Overview

A moderate walk with splendid views of the Mawddach estuary from many places along the route. We start on an easy tarmac lane from the Panorama CP to Sylfaen Farm, under the Diffwys ridge. We then take a turn onto an ancient route, now finished in gravel, that was once trodden by worshippers from Bontddu to the parish church in Llanaber. Turning again, our route progresses down towards Cutiau. Here we follow, an initially less well defined path through woodland, then pick up the original 17th Century coach road that ran to Barmouth. On nearing the end of our walk, we take the gate off to our left to take in the Victorian “Panorama Walk”. Weather permitting we will tarry a while to take in the most spectacular view of the Mawddach Estuary.
