Overview

Come and join Sandwell Ramblers on this leisurely mid-week walk along the Daffodil Way. This will be an opportunity to experience this quiet corner of Gloucestershire at its best and enjoy the glories of the spring wild daffodil season known as the ‘golden triangle’. We will explore the woods and fields which inspired the wartime poets of Dymock. There will be an opportunity for an extended morning coffee stop at St Mary’s Norman church at Kempley (English Heritage) which is surrounded by wild daffodils and you will be able to explore this ancient church and its medieval wall paintings. Lunch will be at St Mary’s church in Dymock. You will also have the opportunity to experience the church Daffodil tea (tea and cake from £5) and its poets exhibition. Or you may wish to partake in refreshments in the next door village pub The Beauchamp Arms. We will reconvene after lunch and continue our walk to Vell Mill Daffodil Meadow (Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust), one of the best surviving wild daffodil meadows in the county.
