An excellent walk through some wonderful Staffordshire Peak District countryside, starting at Gradbach and following the Dane Valley Way past Danebridge.  We cross the river and climb steeply up to the Swythamsley Estate, visiting the Hanging Stone with it's memorial to Lt Colonel Henry Brocklehust, said to have introduced the famous wallabies to the Roaches, and walking along Back Forest Ridge with great views over the Staffordshire and Cheshire countryside.   We walk through spectacular Lud's church, a deep moss covered chasm full of history and myths, before returning to our starting point.
