An airy route through the lesser-walked countryside south-west of Castleton. Old mining tracks and back lanes meander amid rolling hilly limestone pasture land, with a wealth of grand vistas. The Pennine Bridleway then leads to a ridge walk finish along Rushup Edge,with stunning views. Risk assessment: Care needed crossing main road several times. Some walking on minor roads. Livestock in fields.
Please contact the walk leader if you wish to bring a dog. Please let the walk leader know of any health issues they should be aware of.
Village car park off Fennell Street, Ashford in the Water. Honesty box suggested £2. Alternative parking on the roadside or outside the church round the next corner.
