Meeting time & place: 10.30 at Manchester Piccadilly train station to catch the 10.47 train to Disley (final destination Buxton).

Start time & place:  11.30 at Disley train station after the arrival of the train from Piccadilly (due 11.17).

Estimated finish time:  no later than 15.00 at Middlewood train station. Catch the 15.16 to Buxton if your car is parked at Disley.

Catch the 15.26 to Manchester for a return to Piccadilly.

Difficulty:  Easy

Distance – 6 miles

Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail https://www.nationalrail.co.uk  or Transport for Greater Manchester https://tfgm.com close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train.

Train ticket - Disley return

Car Parking - Available at Disley station.

Walk Route - Through National Trust Lyme Park and low moor and farm lands - including side of Cage Hill, tea room and picnic area near Lyme Hall, Platt Wood, Brookside farms and Jackson Nature Road Reserve.
