This walk takes us out from Dorchester over the water meadows to Warbourough then on to Shillingford where we join the Thames path to Wallingford. From here we head to Brigthwell cum Sotwell home of the Bach flower remedies. The walk then heads up hill to Wittenham Clumps via Brightwell barrows, after walking round them, we descend to Little Wittenham and return to Dorchester at Days lock. There should be good views from the Clumps if the weather is fine and a chance at the end to visit the ancient town of Dorchester on Thames with its Abbey and tea rooms.
Please note that the weir crossing at Benson is still closed so to avoid walking for a mile through housing estates, the plan is to use the ferry at Benson which will take us in two trips across the river (boat takes 10 at a time max) and takes about 5 minutes . The cost for this is £2 per person payable by card only.
Please bring food and drink for the day and dress according to the prevailing weather on the day.
This walk is limited to 16 walkers and please book on line.
