A varied walk around Doune. We will walk up the car hill-climb course and come down to Doune Ponds. Around Doune to the Castle then along by the river to the old church and return to start.
Local grade: C+ RADO
Surfaces include tarmac road, forest track and forest paths There is one short, very sharp ascent near the start and a sustained ascent after lunch. Some of the paths could be boggy and slippy especially after rain. Gaiters and poles recommended. We cross the main road twice. There may be cattle in a field.
