Overview

We walk across the Downs and through Sneyd Park to Bishop's Knoll, the site of a wartime hospital. We descend to the railway line, walking between it and the Portway, passing the wicker whales. We walk through Sneyd Park Nature Reserve to Sea Mills, where we have a short refreshment break by the River Trym. We follow the path along the River Avon for a short way then walk through Shirehampton Park, before crossing the Portway and walking along the edge of the golf course to arrive at Sea Mills Church. From there we recross the River Trym before beginning  our gradual ascent through Sneyd Park and back to the Downs. This walk is on a mixture of surfaced and unsurfaced paths.
