This is a pleasant circular walk taking in fields, woods and the coast. Starting at the carpark in Pittencrieff Park, Pittencrieff St, Dunfermline KY12 8AW, the route uses a short section of road with pavement as we leave the city, crossing Liggat’s Bridge, then we follow farm tracks and paths, including the Wagon Road, with a bit more road walking later. The route passes through the Broomhall Estate. From Charlestown we take the Fife Coastal Path to Limekilns, with its impressive Lime Kilns, and then back to Dunfermline via the Fife Pilgrim Way, heading past Douglasbank Cemetery.

Pentland View Car Park Currie, off Lanark Road West. The 44 bus passes the carpark. Bus stop is called ‘Pentland View Court.’ 8: 35 for 8:45am start from PVCP Driving instructions From Pentland View carpark, take second left onto Riccarton Mains Road. Turn right at second roundabout onto A71, then take first left on to city bypass and immediately left again on to M8. At J2 take exit to M9 to Forth Road Bridge, then at J1A take exit to M90 (Dundee/Perth). At J2 take A823(M) exit to Dunfermline, following A823 most of the rest of the way, crossing various roundabouts in the city. Finally take the Coal Road on west side of the park. Turn right into A907 (Pittencrieff Street), and the car park is on the right.
