Overview

Meet in front of Dungeness railway station TN29 9NA (free parking). We head west past the power station along a compacted bank of shingle and then the beach reaching Lydd firing range, this section of the walk is about 1 mile long. Turning inland we follow well made tracks which cross into the RSPB nature reserve. A public footpath of mixed tracks, shingle and shrub leads us back towards the Dungeness lighthouses and power station. We then follow the estate road past the lifeboat station and Prospect cottage back to the start. \nThe walk is flat but exposed so be prepared for all weathers. There are two areas of shingle to walk along. Only assistance dogs are permitted on the RSPB nature reserve. There is a cafe and a pub at the start/end of the walk. Assistance dogs only.
