This short walk on Bank Holiday Monday is an excuse to eat at the Beech Cafe at the Sustainability Centre on the SDW near East Meon. The aim is to be there for 1130 so you can see it as brunch or early lunch! You can check out a sample menu on their website.
The cafe is vegetarian and vegan, but don't let that put you off. The food is scrumptious. I sometimes go walking with a couple of committed meat eaters who won't come out unless we walk to the cafe to eat.
I need to book and set a limit of 14 places, as it is very popular. The cafe prefers card payment.
We start from the car park at the allotments in East Meon and join the SDW heading south to the Sustainability Centre. The path gradually ascends, nothing difficult. After food we head east on the SDW following a level track until Hyden Hill where we start our descent back to East Meon.
