We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk passes through attractive, rolling North Hampshire countryside on a mixture of firm tracks, field/woodland paths and rural lanes. From Ecchinswell Village Hall we head west and then south via Cowhouse Farm, before continuing south and west past Laundry Cottages en route to Wergs Manor. Here we turn north towards Earlstone Manor and then across fields to Woodside Farm, before heading back east to Ecchinswell along part of the Brenda Parker Way. There are fine views of Watership Down and Ladle Hill from the upper section of the Laundry Track. There will be a few wet and muddy stretches, but in general the going underfoot should be pretty good. There are three stiles along the way and one or two ups and downs, but nothing particularly taxing.
Please bring refreshments for a short mid-walk break.
There are no restrictions on numbers, but please book online beforehand.
The car park is at Ecchinswell Village Hall, which is at the southern end of the village, between the church and the primary school.
