This walk takes us out of Dorchester on Thames over the water meadows to Warbourough, then onto Shillingford Wharf, where we join the Thames Path to Benson. The weir is out of action, so we cross the river using the ferry with a chance to see the work being carried out replacing the weir. On reaching Wallingford, we use the ramparts to skirt the town and pass the new housing estates on our way to Britwell-cum- Sotwell (home of Bach flower remedies). After lunch, we head up past Britwell Barrow and on to the Wittenham Clumps before the descent back to Days Lock and the dyke hills back into Dorchester.
The walk is mainly in the open and undulating at the end, so please dress appropriately.
The Ferry costs £2 per person payable by card only and only takes 10 passengers at a time, we may need to split the group with other passengers.
Please bring food and drink for the day.
Numbers are not limited but please book on line before 6pm Saturday, 10 May.
