Please note that this walk, although it has the same title as listed in the Trifold, is a different walk as it's alongside the opposite side of the valley due to huge numbers of cows everywhere on the initial route.
We start by walking through the grounds of the Barony Castle Hotel to see the Great Polish Map of Scotland. This is claimed to be the world's largest terrain relief model. After this we walk through woodland and fields towards Stewarton where we join the Old Drove Road towards Peebles. Terrain is mixed - forest paths, woodland, fields (some cows which ignored us) and a little road walking. Then, weather permitting, there's a short climb to the summit of Hamilton Hill for panoramic views. Then down towards Peebles finishing on the Cuddy path alongside the water.
Boots & poles highly recommended.
Linear walk, grade B, moderate. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.
