We cross Wickham Green to head through the woods to reach Tullcock Farm before using field paths to reach Sole Common, passing Sole Border and Sole Farm on the way. Further field paths and tracks then take us to Elcot, Clapton and Heath Hanger Copse, where we join Heath Hanger Lane to reach North Denford Farm. We return to our cars along Windingwood Lane, passing Wickfield Copse and Grey's Copse on the way.
This is very much a countryside walk and it is anticipated that sections may be rutted and either very wet and muddy, if significant rainfall occurs in the next week, or frozen and hard. Other sections of the walk are exposed and can provide good views of the surrounding area.
This walk is limited to 18 walkers and you are requested to book your place online using the link below before 6.00pm on Saturday, 17th January.
The weather is unpredictable at the moment and hence it is recommended that you check the forecast before setting out and dress appropriately for the weather. Walking boots are recommended.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day.
Please park considerately in Welford Road and meet by the school.
