We walk down through the village until we reach Eccles Pike. This is quite a steep climb but short. (The climb can be avoided by walking along Eccles Road.) We then descend to Tunstead Milton and walk along by Coombs Reservoir. We make our way over to Meveril Farm and Cadster Farm to arrive at Whaley Bridge. ( This is a break off point as there are buses from Whaley Bridge to Chinley Station). We walk along the canal to Waterside, then make our way past  Ancoats and Chinley House to the station.
