Overview

This will hopefully be a relaxed evening walk along well-lit paths, perfect for the still-limited daylight hours in mid-March. We'll start at the Leisure Centre car park and make our way into town alongside the River Ness. The city lights will offer a nice backdrop to the evening's walk. We'll cross the Ness Bridge and walk up the other side of the river back towards the Ness Islands, which are very atmospheric at night when lit up. After crossing the Islands, we'll return to the Leisure Centre car park.

Please sign up by contacting the walk leader by 7pm the day before at the latest.

Mostly concrete paths - the Ness Islands are a mix of concrete paths and grass, so depending on the weather the paths on the Islands may be slightly muddy.

Although we are heading into Spring the weather can be unpredictable in the Highlands, so please dress warmly in case it is chilly in the evening. Bring waterproofs just in case, and it would be sensible to also bring a torch as although we will be walking on well-lit paths, it is likely to get dark during the walk. Please make sure to bring walking shoes/boots, extra layers (incl. hat & gloves), head/handheld torch.
