Overview

The walk starts from the Black Lion pub at 'Firbeck' over open countryside and fields.   We walk through to 'Roche Abbey' with an opportunity to view its grandeur from the perimeter.  From here we take the Kings Wood, woodland trail towards 'Laughton en le Morthen' and upto the Saxon Church on Castle Hill, with its views over to Sheffield before return back via the villages of 'Slade Hooton' and 'Stone'

There are some parking spaces opposite the Black Lion pub entrance and others on the village side roads,

There are a few stiles on the return leg and we do walk through a field with a couple of horses.

Please bring your usual refreshments / lunch.
