We are the Cheshire Walkers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The route is around the Wyre Estuary a beautiful and often overlooked area of Lancashire. We start at Fleetwood and take the ferry across the river Wyre to Knott End. We then head south, along the river, by the sea defences and salt marsh to Shard Bridge.Once back on the west side of the estuary we head up to The Wyre Estuary Country Park before turning inland and crossing the peninsula close to the promenade.. We will then catch a Blackpool tram back to where we parked.
Please note that you will need £2.00 in cash for the ferry (no other form of payment is accepted)
We park and meet at the free on road parking on The Esplanade, Fleetwood. We leave at 10.00am prompt as we need to catch the 10.15am ferry.
