LINEAR walk: Four Marks to Alton Sports Centre, using St Swithun's Way, joining by bus 64 or return to start by bus. 4.5 miles.
We will meet at the "clock" bus stop at Four Marks, near to Tesco store. The no 64 bus, 9:35 from Alton Station, 09:46 sports centre etc arrives Four marks 0953, walk starts at 10:00 am. Car parking at start available in shoppers car park behind BP garage. We then follow footpaths and woodlands to join St Swithuns Way and down Woodside Lane, along the disused railway to Chawton, under A31, then up Mounters Lane to arrive at low car park of Sports Centre. Can catch 64 bus into Alton or return by bus to Four Marks. Open views, some wooded areas, delightful Chawton village etc.
Note, you could park at Sports Centre, 09:30, take 64 bus at 09:46 to Four Marks, and then arrive by your car at the end.
Don’t forget your bus passes! (fare is £3 each way on bus if not, pay by card or cash).
