Overview

We start from Garway Common along short bits of lane and across farmland before ascending onto Garway Hill.  On a clear day (here's hoping) the views are amazing and we can see into 7 counties.  After taking in the view and some lunch we make our descent back to Garway village.  We will stop at Garway church to explore what was one of only 6 churches in the country built by the Templars - lots of interesting history and distinctive architecture.   From the church it is not far back to the common and the opportunity of a welcome drink at the Garway Moon Inn.

OS Explorer 189 We start from Garway Common. There is plenty of parking along the edges of the common. Note if coming south on the A466 Google maps will suggest turning off to Garway at St Woenards. Whilst this is shorter, carrying on to turn right on the B4521 and then right after the garage in Broad Oak takes the same amount of time and is much better roads.
