Overview

The walk is mostly countryside with some urban walking and has some good views.  We will walk from Gawthorpe along a good track to Kirkhamgate where we will have a coffee stop.  From there we head to West Ardsley passing below Ardsley Reservoir where we will have our picnic lunch.  We return along field paths to Gawthorpe.  The terrain is hilly but not excessive and there are 6 stiles.  There are no toilets on the route but the Shoulder of Mutton in Gawthorpe is next to the meeting point and will be open on our return.
