We are the Chelmer & Blackwater Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

To remember Geoff Watts, our Treasurer for five years & Wednesday/Coach/Holiday leader/walker/friend for many more years, we are planning various versions of the "Ridley Round". We will walk around up to 5 pubs (we hope Geoff would have seen this as a fitting tribute, as he usually opted for a beer in lieu of lunch). Brentwood walkers/anyone are very welcome - see 2 shorter & no-walk options.
This is the complete "Ridley Round" - 14 miles, starting at Littley Green. The route goes through the parishes of Great Waltham, Little Waltham, Pleshey, Great and Little Leighs, taking in parts of the Essex Way and the Chelmer Valley. Picnic lunch and an afternoon drink stop at the Butcher's Arms.
All walkers and non-walkers hope to meet up for a drink at the Compasses around 4pm. The pub is open for drinks only from 4pm. Food service will not begin until 6pm.
