Tiger Bay Ramblers (TBR) is a walking group for people of working age. It is based in Cardiff but walks across South Wales and beyond.
This walk starts from Abercynon Train Station and follows the Taff Trail before ascending to what's known as The Gap or Giant's Tooth, offering views down the valley.
A train leaves Cardiff Central at 09:48am and gets into Abercynon at 10:25am. (The walk leader will meet you at Abercynon Train Station).
Trains back from Abercynon are regular.
We follow the Taff Trail for the first few miles of this walk as far as Pont y Gwaith.
We then ascend gently to Daren y Celyn before gently descending back into the town.
Towards the end of the walk, there is a busy road which we will cross with care. Dogs are welcome on this walk. There is one gate to climb over.
