The coach picks up first at Newton Heath at 8.30 am. It then travels to Chorlton Street where it will leave at 8.50 am prompt, with further pick ups in Sedgley Park at 09.10 and Prestwich at 09.15. Toilet stop at Skipton (NB: Timings for pick-up points are approximate - please be at the pick-up point in good time)
The coach will drop off and pick up at Grassington National Park Visitor Centre, Hebden Rd, BD23 5LB. There are toilets at the Visitor Centre.
Three led walks:
Long Walk (11½ miles) Leader: Simon C
Grassington Circular - Kimpergill Hill, Bare House, Yarnbury, Hole Bottom, Burnsall, Dales Way, Grassington. 1560ft ascent. A relatively undemanding moorland walks starts with a steady climb to the highest point at 1300ft, then undulates before a final flat stretch beside the river Wharfe. There will be very boggy patches to overcome.
Medium Walk/Moderate (9¼ miles) Leader: Brian
Grassington circular - Linton Falls, Hebden, Mill Bridge, Thorpe, Linton, Threshfield, Grassington. Brian says it’s a champion walk. Lots of dry-stone walls, lots of stiles. 935ft ascent.
Short Walk/Easy to Moderate (7½ miles) Leader: Frank
Grassington Circular - Linton Falls, Linton, Thorpe Lane, Thorpe, footpath to Burnsall, the Dalesway along River Wharfe to Grassington. Fairly easy, undulating, some tricky stiles, swing bridge at Hebden. Good walking boots essential.
The coach will leave Grassington at 5.30 p.m.
The ground may be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring a change of shoes, boot covers or something to clean your boots before getting back on the coach.
