A six mile walk in and around Grinshill Hill, 20 minutes north of Shrewsbury.
The walk will start in Corbet Woods to the north east of Grinshill. From here we will head south around the base of Grinshill Hill. We will then swing west through the parkland of the Sansaw Estate, before ascending Grinshill Hill alongside the impressive All Saints Church. On a clear day the distinctive sandstone clifftops offer far reaching views of the county. Having taken in the views we will finish by descending back into Corbet Woods.
The first four miles of the walk features mostly gentle descent. There is then a mile of relatively steep ascent before the final descent back into Corbet Woods. We will take things easy and walk at the pace of the group.
A packed lunch is recommended. There will be a break in the morning to see off any remaining mince pies, and a lunch break midday.
There is the option for drinks afterwards. Suggestions are welcome from any of the North Shropshire clan.
Car sharing should be available, the details of which will be shared nearer the time.
