We'll be heading to Bangor again, this time to start the Anglesey section of the Coastal Path.
We'll be getting the 07:26 train from Shrewsbury, which will get us to Bangor for 09:41, where we'll start the walk shortly after arriving. If anyone needs to make a quick stop for supplies, we can make our traditional stop at Morrison's before continuing on.
This walk will start the same as the last one, until we get to the Menai Bridge, the first large iron suspension bridge to be built in the world. We'll cross the bridge to get over to Anglesey, where we'll walk a mix of quiet lanes, woodlands, fields, and tide-permitting, a shoreline of about 400-500 meters. We'll also pass through Beaumaris with its ring fortress castle & moat, the last Welsh castle to be build by Edward I.
As we turn off toward our bus stop at Llangoed, we will pass by the ruins of Castell Aberlleiniog, a Norman Motte and bailey castle originally built in 1090 by Hugh de Avraches, Earl of Chester.
We'll catch the 58B bus from Llangoed back to Bangor, where we can catch the train back to Shrewsbury. This will be another full day out, so expect to be out all day.
