Overview

Meet at Hackney Wick Station exit we will follow on from Jenny’s recent walk along the Capital Ring. We will walk the six miles mostly along the banks of the river Lea until we meet the Thames. There are points where the walk moves away from the river and we will walk on pavements and cross a few roads. Once we reach the Leamouth we will see the only lighthouse in London and stop for lunch. This could also be a dropping off point for those who don’t want to continue on as we walk three miles upstream to reach Island Gardens and the Greenwich foot tunnel. It’s a pretty flat walk along firm paths. Lots of points of historic interest too.
