This walk is based on Colin Saunders’ guidebook The Capital Ring and combines sessions Eight and Nine into a walk of ten and a half miles. Mostly on firm paths or pavement but some sections could be muddy if there has been recent rainfall. As ever it’s a surprisingly green walk through urban London with canal and riverbank walking, flood plains, a Brunel railway viaduct, Harrow School, a nature reserve and sweeping views back towards central London.
It’s an undulating section of the Capital Ring so expect the occasional climb and descent. Many of the public toilets listed in the book are no longer open but there are still some at points along the route.
Being a London walk there are plenty of drop of points along the way if you want a shorter ramble.
