A moderate pace undulating ramble via the Thame Valley Walk with pleasant vistas.
Route: Upper Winchenden, the Rothschild’s Waddesdon estate, Waddesdon Manor, situated on the prominent Lodge Hill, then passing through pasture, fields and woodland to arrive at Aylesbury Vale Parkway Station.
Food: The lunch stop will be at Waddesdon village, where there is a pub, a coffee shop and a church with a large grassy churchyard for picnic lunches. Please bring food with you as there may not be time for a pub lunch.
There are no drop out points on this walk.
Travel: Marylebone 9.12 (Oxford service), arriving Haddenham and Thame Parkway 10.06. Buy a return ticket to Haddenham, which is slightly more expensive than a return to Aylesbury Vale Parkway and, therefore, usually accepted on the return journey.
