Walking out of the Hay Lodge car park we shall enter the side of the golf club. Keeping to the edge of the course, being mindful of golfers we shall then cut through Rosetta Holiday Park. Ascending Standalane and turning to cross below the summit of Hamilton Hill. This is an opportunity for a coffee stop looking down on Peebles. Continuing we cross on open ground to the trig point on Edston Hill where we shall have lunch overlooking the Tweed and Manor Valleys. Turning into Jedderfield plantation we come out on the other side of the golf course using a farm road and return to the car park
The main ascent of the walk is Standalane, 400 ft in ½ mile, and the grade B. We shall walk on a mixture of mown grass, farm road, forest roads & track and open hillside.
The walk will start from the Hay Lodge Car Park in Peebles. This car park is on the left as you enter Peebles on the A72 (Biggar Road). After the 20 mph speed limit there is a light controlled crossing and immediately after this turn left into the car park.
